Plan:
1 day: arriving to Krakow Airport. Transfer to to Pilgrim House/Hotel. Visit the Sanctuary in Krakow Lagiewniki, where Sister Faustina lived, and is buried, and where the Shrine of Jesus has been establish. Dinner and overnight.
2 day: after breakfast we take a sightseeing tour which includes Wawel Hill and the Royal Cathedral, wich holds the relics of St. Stanislaw. This was the seat of Cardinal Karol Wojtila before he became Pope John Paul II. In the afternoon we shall have a walk thrugh the mini town center ( Old City ), one of the finest in Europe. Visit the nearby 14th Century Mariacki Church ( St. Mary’s ), Sukiennice, St. Wojciech Church, Ratuszowa Tower. Dinner at the restaurant in the Old City and overnight.
3 day: after breakfast we shall go to Wadowice, birthplace of John Paul II. We visit his former parish church and home. Continue to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, a centre of Pilgrimage in Poland second only to Czestochowa. See the Bernardine Church and Via Dolorosa which was bilt by the Zebrzydowski Family in the 17th century, following a vision of the three crosses on their estate, followed by miraculous occurrences. Return to Krakow. Dinner and overnight.
4 day: after breakfast depart for Zakopane – Polish Mountain Capitol. In the evening return to Krakow. Dinner and overnight.
5 day: after breakfast depart for Wieliczka – Zupny Castle, Salt Mine. Transfer to Oswiecim where St. Edith Stein and St. Maximilian Kolbe died. The site is considered to be the biggest cementary in the world. Dinner and overnight in Czestochowa.
6 day: after breakfast we shall see Marian Sanctuary. Czestochowa is one of the greatest pilgrimage sites in the Christian world. According to the legend the painting of Black Madonna is a tribute to St. Luke, and St. Helena discovered it in Jerusalem and brought it to Constantinople. It eventually found its way into what is now Poland. It was placed in the Jasna Gora Monastery in 1382. Our Lady of Czestochowa has been proclaimed “ Queen of Poland”, and has been the symbol of Polish national and religious freedom. We visit the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, where Holy Mass will be celebrated. In the evening we arrive to Warsaw. Dinner and overnight.
7 day: after breakfast we will go to Wilanow Palace – designed in the French Baroque style on the model of Versailles. It was a country residence of King John III Sobieski. Then we shall see St. Stanislaw Kostka Church, where Fr. Jerzy popiełuszko is burried. In the afternoon Old City: Cathedra of St. John, Royal Castle, Sigismunt III Column the oldest monument in Warsaw, Jesuits Church, Old Town Markest Squere, The Barbican. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight.
8 day: after breakfast transfer to Zelazowa Wola – The Chopin’s birth place. Then we shall go tl Niepokalanow: the shrine of St. Maxymilian Kolbe, and the Franciscan Monastery which he founded. After a guided visit of Basilika and St. Kolbe museum. Afterwards, continue into Lichen – The Marian Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight.
9 day: at noontime we leave Lichen for Torun where we shall see Old City: Town Hall, Copernicus Monument, Church of the Holy Spirit, Cathedral, Copernicus House. Dinner and overnight in Gdansk.
10 day: breakfast. The majority of historic relics are found along the so-called Royal Way, ones the usual route of kings visiting Gdansk, i.e. Dluga Street and Dlugi Targ Squere: Upland Gate, Gotic Prison Tower, Golden Gate, Renaissance Lion’s Castle, Schumann House, St. Mary’s Church, Cathidral – Cistercians Monastery. Dinner and overnight.
11 day: after breakfast transfer to Malbork – the seat of the Teutonic Order’s komtur from 1280: Huge brick castle, Upper Castle, St Mary’s Gate, St. John’s Church, Teutonic Castle, St. George’s Church. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw.
12 day: breakfast. Transfer to the Warsaw International Airport. Departure.
